Father Accused Of Beating Kids For Passing Gas

austin davisAgain with the strange Florida news, my home state. Look below the story to find more Florida stories. There was a time where Florida was more known for bingo games, blue-haired drivers with their turn signals on for a mile and no jobs.

I still love Florida. I miss it. My daughter and I discuss the possibly of going back home. But after reading much of the news that came out in 2012, we may just consider staying right here.

However! A Florida man has been arrested for child abuse after allegedly beating his three kids with a belt because one of them passed gas in his car.

Police in Deland, Fla., arrested Austin Davis last week and charged him with three counts of aggravated battery for beating his kids after one of them passed gas in the car and no one would say who did it, WESH.com reported.

Deputies reported photographs of the injuries showed a 6-year-old with several dark bruises on the buttocks, legs and thighs, while a 12-year-old had dark bruises on his legs and thighs. A 9-year-old refused to have pictures of his bruises taken because he feared retaliation if Davis found out he reported the incident, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Surprisingly, flatulence has inspired a few crimes in the last couple of years.

In October, a 16-year-old in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, was reportedly killed by a teen she teased for her flatulence.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In 2012, Florida was a state where a lifeguard got fired for saving a life, a woman got arrested for riding a manatee and a man repeatedly used 911 as a phone sex service.

Think that’s weird? It gets worse.

In one of the state’s most horrifying stories of the year, a man attacked a homeless man in Miami, chewing off most of his face before police fatally shot him. And it wasn’t the only story of its kind. In Manatee County, deputies used multiple Tasers to subdue a naked man who bit off part of another man’s arm.

Later in the year a man won a roach-eating contest outside a pet store and then dropped dead in front of the store when body parts he swallowed blocked his airway.

Back in January, 2011, Marc Higgins was arrested for stabbing four people and killing one person at a party because guests criticized his flatulence.

According to police documents, Higgins told police he was upset after being ridiculed and wanted to teach people that they shouldn’t mock him.
